These products are typically vinyl based, and may be color matched to automotive exterior paint, eliminating the need for costly painting.

Applications include body side moldings, bumper rub strips and other exterior trim. Vi-Chem provides products from low to high gloss.

More importantly, all plastic compounds meet or exceed the requirements of the automotive vehicle manufacturers, especially in terms of color and gloss retention after aging.

Specialty grades are also available to provide asphalt stain resistance in white and other light colors.

Paintable vinyl products are also available if desired, providing the smooth surface and high paint adhesion necessary for long term paint durability.

Vehicle manufacturers use vinyl products extensively for seals and trim. These products are typically co-extruded, either with similar materials, Vi-Chem sealing system products, and/or with stainless steel or other brite accent products. Vi-Chem provides a line of plastic compound products that provide ease of extrusion with matched gloss and finish.

Specialty vinyl compounds are available as a stabilizing core in co-extruded body side moldings. These products provide low coefficient of linear thermal expansion (CLTE) for enhanced part dimensional stability.

When part weight is critical, Vi-Chem provides foamed vinyl products, with specific gravity levels down to 0.75. This line of products is especially useful in the manufacture of large body side moldings.

Applications : Automotive : Exterior : Window Encapsulation

The use of vinyl to encapsulate glass in modular windows provides high efficiency and low costs.

Vi-Chem has developed a line of specialty vinyl products especially for this market. This product line includes the materials that withstand the abuse of hot runner manifolds.

High flow products are also available for applications such as large backlites. These products are available pre-colored to body paint if desired.

For applications where integral sealing is required, the SevreneŽ line of low compression set products is available.
