Currently, Vi-Chem is recruiting for the following positions:

Color Technician 

Looking for an experienced Production Color Technician to work second or third shift. Primary responsibilities are sample preparation, sample processing, color measurement and correction in a production environment.  

The position requires experience in color matching, preferably matching to automotive specifications. Experience in coloring plastics is preferred but will consider candidates who have color matching experience in other bases. To qualify for consideration an individual must pass a color test and demonstrate the ability to use color control software. Experience in a JIT compounding company is preferred.

Manufacturing Engineer, Polymer Compounding 

The Manufacturing Engineer will develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods. Duties include improving first pass yield, increasing production rates, and introducing in-situ vulcanized EPDM/PP TPE to product line. This position analyzes the manufacturing process for the enhancement of quality, cost reduction, and throughput. Confers with the manufacturing manager, quality control manager, and development chemist regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential. 

The desired candidate must have experience in the manufacture of plastic compounds. Experience in formulation of compounds and/or polymerization of resins may be helpful. Experience with PLCs and automation systems also helpful. This position currently has no direct reports. Individual should be comfortable working with hands using basic tools during the implementation of his/her ideas.

Production Operators 

We are seeking individuals to join our second and third shift production teams. Responsibilities include machine operation, material handling, forklift operation, and to work with assigned teams on continuous improvements in quality, safety, cost, delivery, and co-worker morale.  

Positions require individuals with a high school diploma or equivalent. Individuals with prior manufacturing experience and forklift license preferred. Starting pay is $9.40/hr. with an increase and benefits after 90 days.

Southeast Sales Representative 

The primary responsibilities of this position include representing the company at the customer interface, responsibility for growth of customer base and sales in territory, managing customer trials, and forecasting sales in SE United States area (home base). 

Requirements include a 4 year degree, or, equivalent background in the plastics industry. Three to five years of successful industrial sales experience required, experience in plastics very helpful. Self-motivated road warrior, overnight travel estimated at 30%-50%.
